2024 AGU Fall Meeting (Pangeo talks and events)

Hi everyone,

This will be my first time attending AGU, and I’m really looking forward to it! :tada: In past years, I’ve noticed that the Pangeo community often compiles a list of Pangeo-related talks and sessions at AGU. Has anyone started that list for this year yet? If not, I’d be happy to help contribute!

In addition to the post-AGU hackathon (Post-AGU Pangeo Hack Day & Working Meeting - December 14, 2024, inWashington, DC), is there any Pangeo event (dinner?) planned this year? I’d love to join!

Looking forward to connecting with Pangeo community at AGU24!!

I started a Google Calendar for Pangeo related talks and events at AGU 2024.
Here’s the google calendar share link and here’s the public version that doesn’t require signing into google. It’s sparse right now, but I would be glad to add as many collaborators as want to contribute or would be fine abandoning it if anyone wants to make a speadsheet instead like last year.

Earthmover and Development Seed are co-hosting a Open Science Social on Tuesday. I’m planning to join and would love to see all the Pangeo folks there! The registration is at Cloud Connections: Open Science Social · Luma.

We’ll have another happy hour after the Pangeo hackday on Saturday :tada: All are welcome, even those who aren’t able to attend the hackday. That registration is at December Geospatial Community Social · Luma
