GoldSpot Discoveries Corp. (http://goldspot.ca/) is a technology and analytics company that is developing and refining machine-learning technology capable of significantly improving mineral exploration targeting. The approach increases the efficiency of exploration in data-rich environments. Past accolades include placing 2nd in the Integra Gold Rush Challenge, and a top five finalist in the Disrupt Mining Challenge. In addition, we are working with several multi-billion dollar companies well known in the mining sector.
We are a cross functional team with skillsets spanning Geology, Structural Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The Software Developer will compliment the existing team by bringing their expertise and experience in software development to our interesting data challenges.
Job Requirements:
- Developing front end website architecture
- Designing user interactions on web pages
- Developing back end website applications
- Creating servers and databases for functionality
- Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones
- Ensuring responsiveness of applications
- Working alongside graphic designers for web design features
- Seeing through a project from conception to finished product
- Designing and developing APIs
- Meeting both technical and consumer needs
Required Qualifications:
- BSc/MSc/PhD in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Intermediate experience 2-5 years full time industry experience
- Familiarity with cloud services, specifically AWS
- Familiarity with Linux environments, shell, and bash scripting
- Experience with back end or server-side applications (python, java, or go)
- Experience working on front end web applications (html, JavaScript, CSS)
- Knowledge of proper testing practices
- Git experience
- Familiarity or experience with CI/CD
- Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (view, react, or angular)
