Hi Pangeo,

I’ve just come across this paper in BAMS where they argue that km-scale resolution simulations will be so data intensive that it is actually going to be cheaper to re-compute diagnostics by re-running the model instead of storing the data:

Just thought this is maybe an interesting perspective for the project.

Yes it’s definitely one viable strategy to deal with exploding model output.
