Main Function:
Within the commodities weather team, in any of our offices (Aarhus, Bangalore, Boston, Dubai, Geneva, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Madrid, Montreal, New York, Paris, Singapore, Zug)
Responsibilities of this role:
Research, maintain and develop our various weather data streams and help channel them to trading applications.
Analyze large weather data sets using advanced statistical methods to improve state-of-the-art weather forecasts for trading applications.
Generate realistic weather scenarios to support timely decisions making.
Model the weather-to-power relationship across various geographies and various variables.
Must-have qualifications:
Meteorology, Atmospheric or Oceanic Sciences with a strong Quantitative bias – includes PhDs in those disciplines or Masters degrees in Environmental Applied Mathematics or Physics where a major component included the manipulation of large weather datasets.
Programming proficiency with at least one major programming or scripting language (e.g. C++, Java, Python).
Strong communication skills and ability to work well with colleagues across multiple regions.
Ability to work well under pressure.
