Hi everyone!

I am currently acting as the Communications Editor of the _Environmental Data Science_, a new open-access journal that just released its first edition. The Editor-in-Chief is [Prof. Claire Monteleoni](https://www.colorado.edu/cs/claire-monteleoni), and the editorial board may be known to several members of this community, because they served in different capacities at the [Climate Informatics Conference Series](http://www.climateinformatics.org/).

I share here an introduction written by the Editor-in-Chief, which introduces the scope of this initial edition, and the papers that are being published: [https://twitter.com/EnvDataScience/status/1514203314463940612](https://twitter.com/EnvDataScience/status/1514203314463940612)

Glad to hear this - definitely not strong options in the field for these topics today. Godspeed 🙂
